The delegation was received by KU Rector Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas, Vice-Rector for Studies Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rasa Grigolienė, Vice-Rector for Infrastructure and Development Dr. Benediktas Petrauskas, Head of the Communications and Marketing Department Inga Petrauskienė, and Head of the International Relations Office Samanta Simonavičė.
During the meeting, the Rector introduced the university, its main research and study areas, as well as existing partnerships with Japanese higher education institutions. The discussion also highlighted opportunities to further enhance Japanese language and cultural studies at KU, encouraging greater involvement of students and the academic community.
University representatives invited the Ambassador to support the establishment of new partnerships with potential Japanese universities, particularly in the fields of marine research and health sciences. These areas remain strategically important both regionally and internationally.
As part of the visit, the Ambassador and his delegation toured the KU Methodical STEAM Center. The Center’s team presented its mission, values, and future plans, while also emphasizing the wide potential of STEAM education and the growing interest among school students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
