Klaipeda University has become a member of the EU Health Policy Platform, marking a significant step forward in strengthening international collaboration in the healthcare sector. This development comes as the 30-month-long international project “Dynamic Digital Resilience for Medical and Allied Professions in Health Services” (DDS-MAP) reaches its conclusion.
The DDS-MAP project united 15 partners from across the European Union, including higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations, and healthcare providers. Together, they worked towards a shared objective: enhancing the resilience of health systems through the implementation of digital solutions.
A major milestone of the project was the establishment of an official stakeholder network group within the European Commission’s EU Health Policy Platform. This group has been named ATHENA — Actionable Transformation of Healthcare for Emergencies & Networked Agility.
ATHENA aims to foster active engagement in healthcare emergency preparedness and crisis management. It promotes stronger resilience in healthcare services and supports robust inter-institutional cooperation across Europe. Furthermore, the network is expected to serve as a key platform for future research collaborations and project applications under programs such as ERASMUS, Horizon Europe, and EU4Health.
By joining this initiative, Klaipeda University underscores its commitment to international cooperation, innovation, and the advancement of health system resilience across the EU.
